Cameron Highlands has free WiFi too!

It may come to many as a surprise but you can get FREE WiFi at Cameron Highlands too.

That place to get it is from Rosette Cafe at Tanah Rata.

Actually the signal can be accessed by three other shops that are near Rosette Cafe.

WiFi in Roselane. Tested my notebook there..

Bagswinger

Don't you just hate "bag-swingers"?

This are people on buses who stand and have their bags freely swinging following the momentum of the bus.

I really cringe when one of these bag swingers stand next to me. Especially if I am sitting. Their bags will bash your head, knock against your knees, heck some of them will even rest the heavy suckers on your lap pretending of ignorance when you stare at their face. It's as if they are punishing you. "Hey you got a seat. So you don't mind me resting my heavy bags on you."

There is only one thing worse than a big swinger. It's a my-butt-wants-a-share-of-your-seat person. Don't get me started on that one...

Homeless man

Location: Opposite KLCC. Just beside Avenue K bus stop.

This homeless man appears to be not mentally sound. He has been living at thisbus stop for 3 months now. Police has been called several time by concerned citizens. Although the police have confronted him, each time he is still seen at the same spot appearing to wait perpetually for a bus ride.

This is "WiFi" post with text and images posted just using my iPAQ 1940 PDA. Please forgive me as I'm just immitating a post from Malaysia Blog. He posted some articles about Malaysia's bad habit of ignoring the yellow line. I just went to the same place and sure enough got almost the same picture :)

Wireless IR keyboard

Wireless IR keyboard

Got a wireless palmone keyboard on http://lelong.com.my for RM 130. (around USD 30)

One pleasant surprise was that it wasn't 2nd hand. The seller passed me brand new unopened package.

I already pre-downloaded the driver to my iPAQ so could immediately start test typing on it.

So far my experience with it is pretty good. Can type almost as fast as on a desktop keyboard.

The only exception is the numeric keys need to be pressed in combination with a special function key. No problem. I can get used to that.

One bonus was that the keyboard also worked for my Nokia 7650 handphone. I could type in text messages into any application on the phone with a downloaded symbian driver.

One good thing I noticed is that I can now press ALT-TAB combination to switch to other program (multitasking) - just like on a desktop Windows PC.

My current setup

I am entering this text using the 'stylus plus poking the on-screen keyboard'.

Terribly slow and inefficient. What the heck!

My blogging setup now includes:

  • HP Ipaq 1940
  • Sandisk Wireless SD card
  • Nokia 7650 handphone (for GPRS when WIFI unavailable)

I am aiming to get a IR wireless keyboard to make text entry easier.
